Grungy Laguna Beach Bully Organic Tee

A few years ago, in Laguna Beach, California, I crossed paths with someone named Jason Garza, who in January of 2020 started a business called Locals For Laguna Beach. He promotes the business as an organization that helps support the local businesses of Laguna Beach, however that is just part of his illusion.

At the time, one of my clients was retiring and closing his restaurant that he had opened 37 years prior, and I was helping him manage the closing among other things. The place was a pillar of the local community for many years.

Jason had heard the news through the grapevine, and reached out, offering an Instagram collaboration to help get the word out. I will spare you the unnecessary details, but he ended up announcing the restaurant was closing (on Instagram) before we did.

He also used the logo I created and the copy I wrote, without permission or even linking back to us (I had written a lengthy announcement on behalf of the owner, to be emailed to fans, and posted on their blog).

Even worse though... there have been many reports, possibly upwards of 100, from people who say they have been harassed, bullied, stalked, and/or deceived by Jason Garza, the majority of them are women. I am just not ok with that.

Jason Garza has been playing his part well, portraying himself as being part of Laguna’s close-knit community, and as an organization who loves and cares for the community. The reality is that he ended up fooling many of the Laguna locals, Laguna Beach business owners, as well as multiple periodicals.

So, I dubbed him "The Laguna Beach Bully", made him a special website, and now I'm doin' art.
